Our ER veterinarians interpret their own imaging (radiographs and ultrasound as able) and do standard emergency surgeries (GDV, C-section, pyometra, GI foreign body, splenectomy, cystotomy, trauma). This helps keep costs down for the owners, decreases wait time for patients, increases compensation for the emergency veterinarian, and leads to a greater sense of accomplishment.
AAEC is a small animal after hours emergency clinic open nights (6pm-8am), weekends (Friday 6 pm-Monday 8am), and holidays on the west side of Indianapolis.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive examinations and diagnostic tests
- Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and diseases in animals
- Perform surgical procedures as needed
- Administer medications as needed
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to ensure the well-being of animals
- Provide client communication and education
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
Qualifications & Skills
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Ability to work overnight, weekends, and holidays
- Valid Indiana state veterinary license
- Proficient in veterinary terminology and procedures
- Team player who encourages others to be at their best
- Excellent communication skills with both clients and team members
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Can comfortably perform all surgical procedures related to ER
